"So, boy, are you going to step out of my way or not?" she asked, examining her nails.

"No. I've drawn my sword. I cannot back down now."

"Sure you can," she said tonelessly, "you just simply lower your sword and step aside. It's not hard really."

"My honor code demands that I see the fight through. No matter what."

Kai raised her eyebrows. "You live by a code? I pity you."

"Save your pity for one who wants it. Are you prepared?"

"Must you ask your opponent if they are ready? It's rather weak of you." she said eyeing with contempt.

"Yes. I must ask. The code demands it. I ask again, are you prepared?"

Kai sighed and got into her stance, answering the question.

I ease back into a fighting position, both hands on my sword. The code demands that I never strike first, so I wait.

Kai let the wind move her so that she appeared behind him within a second. She pulled his head back and propped him on my knee . I hit him repeatedly in the rib cage and threw him across the room, knocking the tables over .

"As I said, boy, you should have stepped aside." she said, running out of the pub with gifted speed.

I douse my sword, and growl. I run after her.

"I should be asking you the same thing Kai. I was here first. are you following me or something" she finaly answered.
